Rescue Brew – a collaboration between NoDa Brewing Company and the Humane Society of Charlotte
While a featured month in a wall or desk calendar has proven to be a sought-after prize, another type of prize is quickly rising in popularity: "Rescue Brew" contests that showcase winners on wine, beer, or other beverage labels.
Inviting a local winery or brewery to create and name a specific beverage in honor of the winner adds an extra layer of excitement to securing the top position. It's also an excellent way to increase community involvement while expanding your fundraising reach, creating a win-win situation.
Best of all, this type of fundraiser isn't limited by printing deadlines like calendar contests, allowing it to take place at any time throughout the year.
What started out as a handful of beer/wine label contests each year has grown to over 50 launched in 2023.

The top two winners will each win a place for their pet to be featured on one of two cans in a 4-pack of Good Neighbour beer, a special limited release. (One animal per label.) The third and fourth label will be awarded through a draw. Each fundraiser will receive one entry into the draw for every $100 CAD raised. Winners will be randomly selected from these entries. This draw will be separated into two categories: Dogs | Cats and other furry friends. This will make sure a variety of animals will make their way onto the labels. All four winners will receive a prize that includes a flat (6 packs of 4) of Good Neighbour Brewing Co. beer, delivered to them at no cost given they are within Winnipeg city limits. |

Charleston Animal Society was brand new to GoGo Photo Contest in 2020, although their contest administrator had used us in the past for other successful fundraisers. One winning dog and one winning cat had their image appear on the new release of the 2020 Rescue Brew beer, a limited small batch production by Palmetto Brewing Company in Charleston, South Carolina.

The Grand Prize winning Spokesdog and the Grand Prize winning Spokescat will have their entry image and pet's name featured on the labels for the 2020 Palmetto Brewing Company Rescue Brew beer. The Rescue Brew beer is a limited small batch production by Palmetto Brewing Company in Charleston, South Carolina. The Grand Prize winners will each receive one case of 2020 Palmetto Brewing Company Rescue Brew beer, in addition to the finalist prizes. Each case of beer is valued at $48. The Grand Prize winning Spokesdog and the Grand Prize winning Spokescat will be selected by the celebrity judges from the top three finalist dog entries and top three finalist cat entries receiving the most votes in the online photo contest. The top three dog entrants and the top three cat entrants receiving the most votes will be the contest finalists. Each contest finalist will receive a $100 gift certificate from the Charleston Animal Society pet supply store redeemable at Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston, South Carolina, 29406. Each gift certificate has a $100 value. |

Since 2014, Pet Alliance Orlando has joined us for an annual donate-to-vote wine label contest, where the top winners are featured on a wine label for the My Best Friend wine produced by Quantum Leap Winery in Orlando, Florida.

Grand Prize (2) The Grand Prize winners will be the top vote recipients in each category. The Grand Prize winners will have their pet’s image, name and short story featured on the wine label for the 2020 My Best Friend wine produced by Quantum Leap Winery in Orlando, Florida. The Grand Prize winners will also receive a case (12 bottles) of the 2020 My Best Friend wine produced by Quantum Leap Winery valued at $216, a $100 gift certificate for use at Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando shelters or clinics and a feature in the Pet Alliance Wags and Whiskers Newsletter. Resurgence to the Rescue

Ten Lives Club had previously joined us for a couple smaller contests, but their fundraising really took off when they debuted their "Resurgence to the Rescue" beer label contest, in partnership with City of Buffalo Animal Shelter and Resurgence Brewing Company. One dog and one cat won the opportunity to be featured on Resurgence’s new summer brew can and was named Buffalo’s Top Dog & Coolest Cat. All proceeds from the contest benefited the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter pets and Ten Lives Club rescue cats. The winners of the photo contest were also invited to the “Resurgence to the Rescue” pet-friendly party on Aug. 1 to celebrate the special can release and raise crucial funds for homeless animals.

For the past three years, Foothills Kiwanis has held a donate-to-vote contest with the winning dog prominently featured on the front label of a special beer brewed by Upslope Brewing Company in Boulder, CO. The dog owner has the opportunity to select the beer and name it (subject to brewery approval).

Top Dog -- First Place: The dog with the most votes will be crowned the "Coolest Dog on the Front Range" for 2019. The dog with the second highest number of votes will be deemed the "Second Coolest Dog on the Front Range" for 2019. The dog with the third highest number of votes will be deemed the "Third Coolest Dog on the Front Range" for 2019. |
In 2017 and 2018, Humane Society Silicon Valley joined us for their Tails & Ales Photo Contest, which tied into their annual Tails & Ales in-person event. The winners in each animal category became local celebrities, featured on marketing materials as the Tails & Ales ambassadors.
