The Promotions Module allows you to run a Calendar VOTE promotion within your contest, where participants receive bonus votes if they order a calendar through the Calendar Order module. You can choose how many bonus votes they receive, and the length of time that the promotion runs.
Using the Calendar Sale Module to sell something else (like photo books)? You can use this promotion for these items, too.
This is a great way to boost orders during your contest!

Before we get started (IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW):
1. You must be using our Calendar Order module in order to run this promotion (it will not work with 3rd party calendar order links).
2. This promotion awards votes per each calendar ordered. Let's say you want to award 5 bonus votes for each calendar. If they order 3 calendars, they'll receive 15 bonus votes. There is no way to limit how many bonus votes someone receives.
3. If someone orders calendars in the entry process: Their bonus votes will be automatically applied to their entry.
4. If someone orders calendars via the "Order Calendars" link on your Homepage or in the Participate dropdown: Their bonus votes will be emailed to them as a voucher in their email receipt. They can return to the site and use that voucher on any entry.
5. MORE VOTES IS NOT BETTER: Think carefully when choosing the amount of votes to award for each calendar order. If the incentive is too great, your participants will only purchase calendars instead of votes (which, depending on your printing costs, could be very cost prohibitive for you!).
We suggest offering a small incentive of 5 or 10 votes.
To run a Calendar Vote promotion:
1. Log into the GGPC Admin: www.gogophotocontest.com/admin
2. Navigate to the Settings ➝ Promotions:

Donation Minimum: This is the price of your calendar (or item you're selling).
Promotional Votes (Bonus Votes): The amount of bonus votes a participant receives in exchange for a calendar purchase.
Start Date: The start date and time of your promotion. The time will always correspond with the time zone in your contest settings. End Date: The end date and time of your promotion. The time will always correspond with the time zone in your contest settings. Homepage Message: When enabled, your promotion will be advertised on your Homepage for the duration that it's running. |
6. As you fill out the fields, the language in grey boxes to the right will automatically update. These boxes represent: what will be displayed on the public calendar order page; on the calendar order page in the entry process; and on the homepage of your contest site (if you enable the Homepage Message):

Promotion Example:
First, a little background: I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue priced their calendars at $30 a piece* and wanted to award 5 free votes for each calendar purchased. They sold a total of 61 calendars.
